A resident of Onibueja, who identified himself simply as Sunday said that the incident attracted many people to the scene.

“The man was driving towards the Osogbo end from the Iwo end of the road when some security operatives in mufti shot at his vehicle," he told Punch. 

“He d!ed right there behind the wheel. The car was riddled with bullets, and people rushed to the scene. The incident happened close to a police roadblock. 

"But those who k!lled him were not wearing uniforms, so we cannot really say who they are. People were very angry over the development,” Sunday said.

The spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, who confirmed the incident said the suspected shooters were Customs operatives.

“The incident happened, but those who allegedly fired the shots are Customs operatives. We have arrested two people in connection with the incident. I will brief the press fully in a few minutes,” Ojelabi added.
