TIB Movement Demands Justice After Former APC Women Leader Jamima Dutse Is Killed in Bauchi

The Take-It-Back (TIB) Movement, Bauchi State Chapter, has called for an urgent investigation into the reported killing of Mrs Jamima J. Dutse, a former Zonal Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi South.

Dutse was reportedly attacked and killed by unidentified assailants at her residence in Bauchi, according to the TIB Movement.

In a statement dated October 4, 2026, and signed by the movement’s Bauchi State Coordinator, Nazif Bashi, the group expressed shock over the incident and extended its condolences to Dutse’s family, friends and associates.

The organisation described the reported killing as a “senseless act of violence” and said it raised serious questions about the safety of residents across the state.

“A society where citizens regardless of their political affiliations, gender, or status, cannot feel safe in their own homes is one on the brink of breakdown,” the group said.

TIB Demands Immediate Investigation

The movement urged the Bauchi State Police Command, the Department of State Services (DSS) and other relevant security agencies to immediately investigate the circumstances surrounding Dutse’s death.

It called for the identification and arrest of those responsible and demanded the establishment of what it described as a “dedicated, high-powered investigative panel” to handle the case.

The group also urged authorities to keep Dutse’s family and the wider public informed about the investigation, including providing timelines and periodic updates on developments.

“Justice must not only be done; it must be seen to be done,” the statement said.

“Those responsible for this murder must be brought to book and face the full wrath of the law to serve as a stern deterrent to criminal elements across the state.”

Concerns Over Security in Bauchi

Beyond the individual case, TIB said the reported killing highlights wider concerns about security in Bauchi State.

The organisation argued that an attack on a citizen in her own residence represents not only a threat to the victim and her family but also a challenge to public confidence in the state’s security system.

It called on the Bauchi State Government and security agencies to strengthen surveillance, intelligence gathering and community based security measures across Bauchi metropolis and neighbouring local government areas.

According to the group, stronger security measures are necessary to confront what it described as a growing pattern of violent attacks in the state.

Civil Society Urged to Demand Accountability

TIB also appealed to civil society organisations, trade unions, human rights advocates and residents across Bauchi State to maintain pressure on the authorities until those responsible for Dutse’s death are identified and prosecuted.

The movement said accountability should not depend on the victim’s political affiliation, gender or social standing.

“The Take-It-Back Movement reaffirms its commitment to advocating for the rights, safety, and justice of all citizens,” it said.

“Silence in the face of tyranny and insecurity is complicity.”

The group’s demand now puts pressure on Bauchi security authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding Dutse’s reported killing, identify those responsible and provide her family and the public with answers about the investigation.
