Yoruba separatist leader Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho has cleared the air following the invasion of his Ibadan residence by the Nigeria Department of Security Service (DSS) in the early hours of Thursday.

Igboho in an interview with BBC Pidgin, said two people were reportedly killed and several others still missing after unknown men allegedly wearing military uniform entered his house at Soka area.

"I was in my house around 1:30am. I just heard gunshot at the front of my house and shout saying, we're DSS, we're soldiers, Sunday Igboho come out.

"I peep through my window, I saw them, dressed in DSS and Nigerian army uniform. I was surprised of what the problem was, because I didn't kill anybody," he said.

He continued; "What I'm after is to fight for my people, my rally has been peaceful, I fight for my family because of Fulani bandits killing our people, and raping them. Government refuses to do the right thing for my family that's reason I'm fighting these criminal elements.

"They kill two people during the shooting, they also destroyed my property, my vehicles and carted away a sum of 2million naira."
