In a recent video on SYMFONI T, Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has assured religious leaders and followers in the state of his unwavering support despite current political challenges. Speaking during a recent gathering, the governor acknowledged the limitations imposed by the suspension of his administration but emphasized that his dedication to the people remains steadfast.
Fubara expressed regret that his government has been unable to fulfill certain obligations and provide the special benefits usually extended to the religious community. However, he highlighted the significance of the sacrifices made by those who came to pray with him, stating that such gestures were more valuable than material support.
The governor reassured attendees that once his administration resumes full operations, his relationship with the religious community would strengthen further. He pledged greater commitment to protecting religious rights and preventing any form of oppression against religious groups in the state.
Additionally, Fubara acknowledged previous requests made by the religious leaders, assuring them that those pending matters would be addressed in due time. He reaffirmed his belief that divine grace would guide the resolution of the current political situation, enabling his administration to continue its developmental and social support programs.
According to him, "It is unfortunate that we have not been able to do what we would normally do for you during this period. There are special things we usually provide, but since we are currently suspended, we cannot do much. However, what is most important—honestly speaking—is the sacrifice you have made in coming here to pray with me. That gesture is greater than anything else."
"I want to assure you that, by the special grace of God, when we return, our relationship will be much stronger. Our love and commitment to protecting your religion will be even greater. We will continue to defend you on every front and will not allow anyone to oppress you. The requests you made the last time we met, which we have not yet been able to fulfill, will be addressed by the grace of God."
